Wildfire Mitigation Planning

Wildfires are an ever increasing threat as our communities move further west into the Urban Wildland Interface.  Recent urban wildfires has stressed the importance of understanding how we, as residents, can understand the issue, and the actions that we can all take to make our homes more defensible in case of wildfire.  The Wildfire Mitigation Plan being developed by the District is being created in cooperation with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the Arvada Fire Protection District, and the City of Arvada.

Lookout Alert

Arvada Fire, in coordination with local and regional agencies, is supporting the roll out of Lookout Alert.  This program takes the place of CodeRED.

Residents who are already subscribed to emergency alerts via the previous CodeRED system are automatically transferred to the new system. However, you are encouraged to create a profile with Lookout Alert to keep your information updated, and select which types of alerts you would like to receive and how you would like to receive them. The change to Lookout Alert was made due to its enhanced system capabilities.

There are multiple ways to enroll in this program:

Follow the link:  http://lookoutalert.com
