Community Parks

Each park is located no more than a half-mile away from each home and offer everything from tot lots and playgrounds, multi-purpose turf fields, outdoor basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball & softball fields, climbing boulders and fitness stations. Each park is unique, but together they offer something for everyone. Residents of the District may reserve the covered park pavilions through the District reservation system. Non-residents must make reservations through our Lifestyle Director. All park rentals are subject to City of Arvada parks rules and regulations and any special events that may have alcohol served must obtain the appropriate City permits. Trails

A big part of Candelas life is strapping on your hiking boots (or running shoes, or cycling shoes, or snowshoes) and heading outdoors for fun. A total of 13.5 miles of trails meander all throughout Candelas, and every one of them presents an opportunity to take a walk, jog, bike ride or hoof it on horseback. You can stay within the familiar confines of Candelas and explore all parts of the community, or enjoy direct access to open space lands and trails at the gateway of the Rockies.

Open Space

Candelas is a place of wide-open spaces interrupted by nothing that detracts from its natural beauty. There is approximately 193 acres of open space located within the District's boundaries available for residents to explore at their leisure. Residents may even find a population of active wildlife in the open spaces that provide great opportunities for educational outdoor excursions.
